Fifth Anniversary of Window Safety Day in Iowa - March 21, 2019

From now until April 30, 2019, select window safety products will be offered free of charge at the Hannah Geneser Learning Center and Safety Store located at Blank Children’s Hospital. Available devices include:

·         One KidCo Window Guard  OR

·         Two Packages of KidCo Window Stops

This project is made possible by generous funding from the Hannah Geneser Foundation and is in celebration of the Fifth Anniversary of Window Safety Day in Iowa. In 2014, Governor Terry Branstad signed an official proclamation declaring March 21 Window Safety Day.

Four-year-old Hannah Geneser died in a tragic accident in March of 2011. The Hannah Geneser Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded by the Geneser family to honor the memory of Hannah and promote the safety and well-being of children through public advocacy and education.

The non-profit Hannah Geneser Learning Center & Safety Store sells new, name-brand, safety products at reduced cost – often much lower than retail.  A primary goal of the store is to have visitors and their children leave safer than when they arrived. According to Jessica LaCroix, Safety Store Coordinator, “When you visit the Hannah Geneser Learning Center and Safety Store at Blank Children’s Hospital, you receive assistance from a safety expert and learn the proper use of each safety item viewed and/or purchased.”

Other products available for purchase include car seats, bike helmets, life jackets, childproofing products, and more.
